Well, it's been a while since I've updated here. And since that time, alot has gone on. We kicked off another year at Sparkroom with Season 2 of our variety show SparkTV. The show has a whole new lineup with two new anchors: Amy LaGrone and Hunter Walker. No segment was carried over from last year, except for our Report now called the Here and Now. In addition we have new segments like Sparklets, a collection of short, fun, and sometimes meaningless short videos; Narratives, a present-day spin on familiar Bible Stories; and a remake of a classic from Synergy News 09, A Word with Kenny, now re-dubbed - A Moment with Kenny. Check out our first full episode this Wednesday night.
The leadership of Sparkroom has seen some changes as well this year. David Walker, co-creater of Sparkroom, left to go to Tennessee for film school. Although he and his talents are surely missed, we are excited for him as he pursues his career. Joining me this year on the Executive Staff again is Charles Wells as well as two new former Sparkroom students: Caleb Rowe and Trey Wells.
Production started this past summer on Scubaman 3. We were hoping to get all the footage shot before David went off to school, but as usual, unforeseen scheduling conflicts occurred and we were not able to finish. But don't worry, we will finish Scubaman 3. Check out the teaser for it on our home page of the website: www.sparkroomproductions.com.

DNow and SparkTV
January has flown by but that hasn't stopped us from releasing a few more videos. This past weekend we had our 25th annual Disciple Now. I had the privilege of it being my 14th straight DNow at FBC. I have been to every one since my 7th grade year and have seen God do some amazing things and I'm grateful to be apart of such a life-changing weekend. This was also our 4th year to have a Security video. This year, the Security team battles against another, more legit, Security team to see who can keep things under control. Check out the video at www.sparkroomproductions.com to see what happens.
Also, this week we released SparkTV Episode 4. The crew had some interesting things happen to them this episode, including a strange Lewis Conspiracy that has caused Andrew to disappear. Where do you think Andrew has gone? Did he teleport? Time Travel? Post your ideas here or on Facebook. Stay tuned for next months episode as we find out what happened to Andrew.

New Year....New Videos
The New Year is here...2010. Looking back at 2009, I have to say it was a pretty successful year for Sparkroom. Alot happened down in our basement room. To sum it up:
- Early January, we unveiled the newly renovated Spark Room which now includes a booth room for controlled sound recording, newly painted walls black to cover up the wild colors, new ceiling tiles, and painted concrete floor.
- A new set was built for the start of the new News show, Synergy News 2009. This was a great success.
- SparkTV created over the summer with the creation of a completely new, better designed and user friendly set.
- Additional equipment added to get better audio recordings to eliminate noise and increase clarity.
- Started our website, www.sparkroomproductions.com, to make it easier to post our videos and information.
- Had our first annual Sparkroom Retreat that challenged our students to make a Disciple Now promotional video that was completely planned and filmed by the students.
- Filmed our first music video under the label of SparkRecords.
These are just some of the major accomplishments we had in 2009. Alot of little things have also occurred. But it's now 2010 and we are sure that it will be just as successful if not more! Some things we are hoping to accomplish this year:
- Continuing SparkTV through May, due to its extreme success. We will continue to do SparkTV in the fall, but due to students graduating, we will have to drop and create new segments. This is sad and exciting at the same time....sad cause we hate to lose students, but also exciting to see what new things we can accomplish.
- Film, produce, and show the long overdue Scubaman 3 this summer.
- Complete some finishing touches in the Spark Room from last years renovation, including solutions for storage for equipment, props, and costumes.
- Have a summer Sparkroom Retreat to give the students another opportunity to create student-led and produced films.
- Train willing students how to edit and produce videos.
In other news, I am constantly working on our website trying to upload new videos...well not new, but new to the site. I did a quick count the other night and we have almost 5o videos uploaded and thats not all that we have produced over the last 3 years. This is just awesome! To think we have produced over 50 videos is way more than we ever thought we would accomplish. This is only due to the time and dedication of both the students and us the leaders. We are looking forward to what new videos we can upload this year.
One of the things we want to do is to implement more interaction with the students through our videos and the website. What can we do to do that? Post your ideas here on this blog and give us some ideas. Also, tell us what you think about the website.
Signing off...
